Saint Francis Ministries welcomes Rachel Williams-Ehue as Regional VP in Texas

“We are excited to welcome Rachel to West Texas as she is a proven leader who has dedicated her life to improving child welfare systems to better serve children and families,” says Cristian Garcia. He emphasizes her long career in child welfare, having served countless children and families over a span of nearly 20 years as a case manager, supervisor, and director at Saint Francis Ministries.

Rachel will use her years of hands-on experience, proven leadership style, and passion for child welfare to lead the SSCC work in Region 01. As Garcia mentions, “She is a dedicated leader who has thorough knowledge of positive system change and transition. We are excited that Rachel will be part of the transition process in Texas to continue to serve children and families!”

Rachel with be replacing Cristian Garcia who recently was promoted as Vice President for Saint Francis Ministries serving the southern regions.

Rachel Williams-Ehue began her career in Social Work at Saint Francis Ministries in Hutchinson, Kansas, as a Case Manager after earning her bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University. She later transitioned to the Wellington office, which covered multiple counties. During her work in Wellington, she also provided support to the Garden City and Dodge City offices while maintaining her cases in Wellington.

Rachel was promoted to supervisor and then director. Rachel has worked in child welfare for 18 years and maintains her commitment to helping children and families. Helping people is what drew Rachel, and Social Work ethics speak to what is most important to her, which is her faith in God and belief in people.

Rachel has been married for three years to Edison Ehue. They enjoy road trips and sightseeing in different towns. Rachel is very involved with her home church; her involvement has included teaching Sunday school to the youth, coordinating events for church, and helping/doing whatever needs to be done to support.

In Rachel’s new role of Regional Vice President, she looks to bring the same passion and commitment to helping children and families by supporting staff and Saint Francis Ministries. She enjoys humor and believes humor has helped her to continue in child welfare for so many years. Rachel looks forward to leading with patience, empathy, and integrity – and focusing on reaching permanency for the children Saint Francis serves in Texas.
