Fostering in Faith: Fernanda

August 2020 · Fostering in Faith

Born prematurely, 2-year-old Fernanda is extremely small for her age. Abandoned by her mother, she spent the first few months of her life in a hospital. Due to medical issues related to her birth, Fernanda is considered high-needs.

Despite these issues, she is able to form healthy attachments and can communicate her needs through crying. As she grows, she will likely do fine around other children, but the best environment for her would be one with older siblings or none at all.

A two-parent family living near medical specialists and developmental programs would best ensure Fernanda’s physical and emotional wellbeing. A single parent could manage as long as an in-home nurse or nanny is available to provide support.

Fernanda has a life of struggle ahead of her, and she’s going to need a forever family willing to give her the support, attention, and unconditional love to succeed. It won’t be easy, but the right family can make all the difference in the world and give this precious child of God a full and happy life.

Please pray that Fernanda finds the family she needs.
