Share your blessings with a child at Christmas

This time next week we’ll all gather around the table to share a meal and offer thanks for the many blessings that bring us happiness and fulfillment.

Thanksgiving reminds us of the reasons for gratitude in our lives, especially the family and friends that brighten our days and remind us that we are loved.

Yet for many children in foster care, the holidays – especially Christmas – means separation from those they love most. That’s why Saint Francis’ “Christmas for Kids” program is so important.

SFM currently provides case management services for thousands of children and youth in foster and kinship care, and we believe that each one deserves a gift on Christmas day.

“Christmas for Kids” provides children in foster care with their own Christmas present under the tree. They might be separated from their birth family and living in a foster home but getting that specially selected gift reminds them that they are neither forgotten nor alone.

That’s what makes it so popular with our donors and friends. It’s a simple and satisfying way to reach out to a child and make Christmas a little more special for them.

Donors can either contribute presents or money for purchasing gifts. Some churches coordinate with local SFM offices to make sure kids in their community are remembered. What’s more, November 28 is Giving Tuesday, the global movement that celebrates radical generosity, and we’ve earmarked any Giving Tuesday donations we receive for “Christmas for Kids.”

Plus, we’ve made it easy to give. Simply visit https://saintfrancisministries.org/programs/christmas-for-kids/ and donate to “Christmas for Kids.” You can also contact the Saint Francis Foundation at (800) 423-1342, or text to donate at “CFK” to 53-555.

It’s that simple.

We’ll make sure that your gift is used to purchase a Christmas present for a real child in foster care.

Is there room in your life to join us in bringing a bit of joy to a child who needs it most this holiday season?
