Saint Francis Ministries is pleased to announce that Gretchen Clayton has been named Executive Director of In-Home Prevention Services for Arkansas Prevention and Katherine May as Executive Director of In-Home Prevention Services for Texas.
Both Clayton and May bring to the positions extensive experience in working with children and families in schools, workplaces, camps, homes, and academic settings. Prior to joining Saint Francis in 2019 as a clinical supervisor, Clayton worked as a school psychologist for 15 years. Most recently, she served as clinical director. Yet, her experience extends beyond the fields of psychology and counseling. She has served her church’s missional community through disaster relief and crisis prevention, de-escalation, and stabilization. Her passion is building and strengthening relationships to achieve community goals.
Clayton is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a specialist degree in School Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, and Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
Before joining SFM, May served as a parent educator with Waco ISD Parents as Teachers. As a social worker, she has also worked closely with high school students, most recently as part of the Waco High School BEAR Project and Midway ISD’s EXCEL (credit recovery), DAEP (alternative school), and PEP (pregnant and parenting) programs.
A Licensed Master Social Worker, May received both her MSW and her Bachelor of Social Work from Baylor University.
“Saint Francis is fortunate to have both of these capable women leading our In-Home Prevention programs in Arkansas and Texas,” said Vice President of Prevention Dr. Nicole McCauley. “The energy, expertise, and professionalism they bring to the roles will help ensure the success of our in-home prevention efforts to keep children and youth home where they belong.”
