Saint Francis staff showed appreciation for its various community partners by delivering cookies, cupcakes, and expressions of gratitude to those individuals and organizations that support SFM in its mission to bring healing and hope to children and families. The effort was part of Saint Francis’ commemoration of National Nonprofit Day on August 17. Since this year’s Nonprofit Day fell on a Saturday, about 15 employee volunteers made the actual deliveries on Friday, the 16th.
What began as a pilot project two years ago has become an annual event. Teams in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas spent at least part of the day visiting friends and supporters within their communities.
Nonprofits throughout the country work to promote awareness and assist individuals who otherwise would not have access to it. The types of work nonprofits perform are as numerous as the nonprofits themselves.
Some nonprofits, like Saint Francis Ministries, specialize in child and family welfare, providing programs and services such as foster care and adoption. Yet faith groups, civic organizations, and community service providers also support SFM through their own work. Their activities and collaboration help shape our society and provide hope for a brighter future.
