Saint Francis Ministries is proud to announce that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families has awarded the organization a $6 million grant to strengthen families through marriage and relationship education, parenting skills, and job and career advancement activities.
The grant, known as HEART (Helping Every Area of Relationships Thrive), will provide $1.2 million annually over five years to fund programs that promote healthy marriages and relationships. Designed for adults ages 18 and older – both individuals and couples – the HEART program offers a range of evidence-based workshops and services focused on relationship skills, communication, and family stability. Classes will begin in February 2026.
“Although Saint Francis began as a ministry serving adolescent boys in need, we have always been dedicated to supporting families as well,” said Darrin Sewell, Vice President of Residential and Outpatient Services. “As we celebrate our 80th year, we continue to offer programs for children, teens, parents, and families because we know that strong families create brighter futures for children. This HEART grant will help Saint Francis equip parents with the parenting and communication skills they need to build strong marriages and nurture healthy, positive relationships with their children.”
Provided at no cost to participants, HEART includes at least 12 hours of curriculum-based, skills-focused workshops delivered over multiple sessions across two or more weeks. The program will be available to participants in Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas.
