In this Good Day Kansas segment, Jessica Ristich, Director of The Care Center at Saint Francis Ministries, discusses the Immediate Response Team, a dedicated group of trained responders available 24/7 across Kansas. This team works closely with law enforcement and juvenile intake centers to assist potential survivors of human trafficking. When called, they conduct interviews, assess safety and medical needs, and provide immediate placement and treatment recommendations. In some cases, survivors are referred to the Wichita Children’s Home staff-secure unit for a 72-hour stay, allowing them to rest while law enforcement continues their investigation and service plans are developed. The Immediate Response Team serves Sedgwick County, western Kansas, and areas stretching through Junction City, ensuring vital support for vulnerable youth. Through rapid intervention and compassionate care, Saint Francis Ministries plays a critical role in protecting and assisting trafficking survivors.
