As Saint Francis Ministries marks its 80th anniversary, the organization is finding new ways to live out its mission of healing and hope—not just through its daily work with children and families, but by giving back to communities in an even more intentional way.
In this Good Day Kansas segment, Denny Marlin, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, shares how Saint Francis Ministries is expanding its long-standing spirit of volunteerism through a special anniversary initiative.
One of the most meaningful additions this year is Volunteer Time Off, a new benefit that allows employees to use paid time during the workday to volunteer for causes they care about—much like vacation or sick leave. The goal is to make community service more accessible and encourage staff across the organization to engage in meaningful service opportunities.
To further celebrate the milestone anniversary, Saint Francis Ministries also launched an ambitious organization-wide goal: 8,000 volunteer hours across its entire footprint. The initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to serving not only the children and families in its care, but the broader communities where staff live and work.
From local charity events to international medical volunteer work, employees have embraced the challenge in creative and inspiring ways. Progress toward the goal is tracked publicly on the Saint Francis Ministries website, with volunteer stories and photos shared along the way.
For Saint Francis Ministries, celebrating 80 years isn’t just about reflecting on the past—it’s about continuing to make a difference in new and meaningful ways.
