Real heroes come in many forms, and they rarely wear capes. Saint Francis Ministries encounters such heroes every day.
That’s because real heroes do extraordinary things with little fanfare – helping children and families heal, providing hope to the hopeless, and creating brighter futures for those with traumatic pasts. Such heroes are the unsung ones who put others first and selflessly dedicate their lives to the well-being of children.
Whether social workers, foster parents, counselors, case managers, or community partners, everyday heroes change lives every day.
And we need more of them.
The needs are many, yet so are the opportunities … to help, to heal, to be a hero.
Recently, we met such a hero – David Bost.
An educator and former principal, David currently serves as a behavioral specialist at a Wichita elementary school. He also wrote a children’s book titled “I’m Important, Too.”
David is a Saint Francis Ministries foster parent who advocates for students and kids in care. He has dedicated his life to enhancing the well-being of young people and helping them discover their purpose.
… And he does all this with humility, kindness, and genuine concern.
