Associate Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, State of Illinois, since 2010, Ericka is also chair of the Juvenile Justice Commission of the 4th Judicial Circuit and board member of Centralia Connected, a mentoring program for junior high-aged youth. Prior to her current position, she served as Marion County Illinois lead public defender; assistant attorney general for Springfield, Illinois; and assistant public defender for Marion County. She is also an executive board member of the Illinois Association of Problem-Solving Courts; a board member of the Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission; a member of the Supreme Court of Illinois Judicial College; and served as a committee member to revise Illinois Pattern Jury Instructions in criminal matters, pursuant to the CLEAR Commission’s revision of the Illinois Criminal Code.
