Saint Francis Advocacy Monitoring Key Races

As election season continues, Saint Francis Ministries is closely monitoring key races and potential leadership changes that could influence child welfare policy, agency priorities, and partnerships across the states where we serve. Our advocacy team remains actively engaged with elected officials, candidates, community partners, and state leaders to ensure that the needs of children, families, and the people who serve them continue to be part of those conversations.

In Kansas, Saint Francis Ministries recently provided testimony before the Joint Committee on Child Welfare System Oversight, sharing our perspective on current system challenges and opportunities to improve outcomes for children and families. Members of our executive team have also met with candidates in several key races and continued conversations with legislators who serve in leadership roles or chair committees responsible for child welfare, health, and human services.

In Texas, we continue to monitor the anticipated expansion of Community-Based Care in Region 7 and to engage with stakeholders as the state considers future procurement opportunities. We have also participated in meetings hosted by the Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services as it begins developing its legislative agenda for the upcoming session. These opportunities allow Saint Francis Ministries to remain connected to broader statewide discussions and share our perspective alongside other providers and partners.

Across each of these efforts, Saint Francis Ministries remains committed to building strong relationships, informing public policy, and advocating for systems that help children and families thrive.
