Lee Anne’s Story

Lee Anne and her family share the story of her journey toward independence with the help of Bridgeway. After losing her group home in 2005, Lee Anne expressed a desire to live at Bridgeway, where she now thrives in a supported, independent living environment. At Bridgeway, she has meaningful friendships, contributes to her community, and receives the support she needs for daily tasks like shopping and self-care. Her parents urge community members to support places like Bridgeway—through employment opportunities, financial backing, and advocacy—emphasizing the dignity and potential of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
