Community Partner Donates a Quarter per Drink and Jeweler Supports SFM with Sales Portion

Several Saint Francis staff gathered at the Chicken N Pickle in Wichita in April for a Sunday Brunch & Bingo event hosted by one of our best community partners. The buffet and games offered a good excuse to get together, relax, and spend time with an organization that continues to support Saint Francis Ministries and the work we do.

In April, the Chicken N Pickle Foundation and SFM partnered for the Green Cup Campaign, during which Chicken N Pickle donated 25 cents back to Saint Francis Ministries for every soft drink or tea purchased and served in the restaurant’s special cups.

The collaboration raised $532.75 for SFM programs – that’s an average of 152 drinks sold each day of the campaign.

Throughout the two weeks of the campaign, Foundation staff were also on site to share information with customers about our mission and the multiple ways SFM serves the Wichita community.

Saint Francis Ministries’ partnership with Kendra Scott Jewelry has proven fruitful for young girls in care.

Last year, the store and its Wichita shoppers partnered with the Saint Francis Foundation to raise funds for children and families. During the “Kendra Gives Back” Mother’s Day fundraising event, the store donated 20 percent of all sales during a portion of the day. Store manager Ciersten Bolen presented a check for $803.68 to the Foundation’s Shaynna Brown at the time.

The event proved such a success that the Kendra Scott and Saint Francis decided to repeat the effort over the holiday season. On December 23, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Kendra Scott donated another 20 percent of all purchases – both in person and online – in which the customer mentioned SFM by name.

This time “Kendra Gives Back” brought an additional $1,544.43, making the combined total from both events $2,348.11.

“We met a lot of amazing people who were shopping for Mother’s Day and Christmas and educated dozens about Saint Francis Ministries and those we serve,” said Shaynna “We had a great time and hope to do it again.

And that’s exactly what they did.

The partnership has proven so fruitful that Saint Francis and Kendra Scott planned another event for May. This year’s “Kendra Gives Back” expanded from two days to seven. All customers who shopped that week could choose from a selection of bracelets to donate to a girl in foster care for her birthday or high school graduation. Additionally, Saint Francis Ministries received 20 percent of all bracelet purchases.

Ultimately, customers donated seven bracelets to girls in foster care – a $200 value. SFM also received $263.37 through purchases made by employees and customers using the code or mentioning Saint Francis by name.

So, if you’re in Wichita one of these days and find yourself near the store, feel free to drop in and tell Ciersten and her team thanks. Saint Francis Ministries is fortunate to have community partners so committed to providing healing and hope to children and families.
