Christmas for Kids is special

For more than 10 years, Saint Francis Ministries’ “Christmas for Kids” campaign has delivered the spirit of the season to children in foster care.

That’s because, as one of our most beloved programs, “Christmas for Kids” provides children in foster care with their own Christmas present under the tree.

Unfortunately, for many children who end up in foster care, the holidays often means anxiety and uncertainty. Because although they might reside safely in a foster home, Christmas still means separation from their birth family and a holiday spent in unfamiliar surroundings.

Yet “Christmas for Kids” reminds them that we remember, love, and care about them. The annual campaign – thanks to individuals, businesses, and other community partners – ensures that kids in foster care in Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas, experience the Christmas they deserve.

Fortunately, “Christmas for Kids” offers a simple way to reach out to a child and make Christmas a little more special for them. Donors can either contribute presents or money for purchasing gifts. Some churches coordinate with local SFM offices to make sure kids in their community are remembered.

Is there room in your life this holiday season to remember a child in foster care?

No child deserves a Christmas without a present under the tree. If you agree, there’s still time to help. Simply visit https://saintfrancisministries.org/programs/christmas-for-kids/ or text “CFK” to donate at 53-555.

You’ll be glad you did.
