Saint Francis Ministries to Host National Adoption Day

Saint Francis Ministries will host National Adoption Day events on November 20th, at Potter County Courthouse 350 SE 6th Ave. in Amarillo, Texas, and November 21st, at Lubbock Impact 2707 34th Street Lubbock Texas. Beginning at 9 a.m., the National Adoption Day Proclamation will be read, and the first adoption will occur. The Honorable Judge Tatiana Frausto, Judge Les Hatch, and Judge Philip Hays will preside.

President Bill Clinton proclaimed the first National Adoption Month in 1995, and it has been celebrated every year since.

This year’s National Adoption Day theme is “O-Fish-ally Adopted.” Families, friends, and supporters are invited to celebrate the love and joy that adoption brings to families. The event will feature activities, games, and opportunities to connect with other community members. National Adoption Day offers an excellent opportunity to celebrate the bonds created through adoption while enjoying time with family and friends. At least 30 children and 23 families are scheduled to receive the gift of adoption this year.

Region 1 celebrates National Adoption Day in Lubbock the Friday before Thanksgiving and in Amarillo the Thursday before Thanksgiving. Children adopted on National Adoption Day can look forward to a holiday season spent with their new families.
