Saint Francis Ministries receives accreditation
Once again, The Joint Commission has accredited Saint Francis Ministries, continuing a streak unbroken for about four decades.
Recognized as a global leader in healthcare accreditation, TJC is an independent, not-for-profit organization providing an unbiased assessment of organizational safety and care quality.
“The Joint Commission accreditation process is a cornerstone of our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care,” said Chief Clinical Officer Amanda Pfannenstiel. “It provides an opportunity to evaluate our practices, celebrate our strengths, and identify areas for improvement, ensuring we continually meet and exceed the highest standards in care for those we serve.”
Salina West gymnasium gets a makeover
Thanks to a generous donation from the Soule Family Foundation, the gymnasium at SFM’s Salina West residential facility is getting a long-overdue makeover.
“We plan to completely refresh the Mize Hall Gym, which includes the installation of new rubberized floors,” said Darrin Sewell, Vice President of Residential and Behavioral Health Services.
The renovation also includes repainting and repairing the gym walls, installing new sound panels, leveling the play surface, adding a new logo on the wall, and adding brighter lighting and new wall pads. The total cost of the project is around $100,000.
“To date, we have painted and repaired the walls and installed the new lights,” said Sewell. We also recertified the rope elements inside the gym. Over the next 60 days, the remaining work will be completed with the new gym floor going in May 26-30.”
The gymnasium supports recreational and spiritual activities designed to enhance the well-being of youth at Salina West, and having a safe and functional indoor recreational space is integral to healing.
