From 12 to 12,000

The Rev. Robert Mize Jr., an Episcopal priest, founded Saint Francis Boys’ Home nearly eight decades ago in Ellsworth, Kansas. Guided by the Gospel principles of redemption and unconditional love, Fr. Bob and his staff gave those first 12 boys a second chance at life.

Today, Saint Francis Ministries provides programs and services to 12,000 children and families in six states: Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Yet our commitment to bringing healing and hope to those who need it most has never wavered. We’re good at what we do because we prioritize human dignity. We believe every person deserves a healthy family and the opportunity to live a happy, fulfilling life.

A group of nine people standing in a row on a stage, dressed in formal attire. They are in front of a stone wall with a large wooden cross in the center. Two screens on either side display "Saint Francis Ministries.
The image shows the interior of a church with a wooden ceiling. There is a large pipe organ and a rose-shaped stained glass window above it. The lights are on, and the text "WORK IS PRAYER" is visible on a wooden panel below the organ pipes.
Five people are gathered around a decorated Christmas tree, each holding various gifts and boxes. They are indoors, and a basket filled with items is on the floor in front of them. The setting has holiday decor, including a large gift box decoration.

A Message From Our Executive Officer for Mission & Ministry

The mission of Saint Francis Ministries is to provide healing and hope to children and families. Inspired by our past and rooted in our faith, our vision today is to see lives and systems transformed. We are blessed to be called to this work, but we cannot do it alone!

We seek to actively partner with churches, civic groups, and all people of goodwill who want to help make a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. Not only do we need your support, but we also want to help you expand and enrich your ministries.

I am available as a supply priest, guest preacher, and forum leader. I would be delighted to make an in-person or virtual visit to your parish, small group, outreach committee, Bible study, or other group.  If you are ready to be a part of putting the Gospel into action with Saint Francis Ministries, we would love to hear from you!

Support Children and Families Today

Every day, children and families in need turn to Saint Francis Ministries for hope, healing, and support. With your generous gift, we can continue to provide vital services, including foster care, family preservation, mental health programs, and community outreach.

The need is great, but together, we can make a lasting impact. Every dollar you give helps create safety, stability, and a brighter future for children and families who are facing difficult circumstances.

Right now, there are children waiting for a foster family, parents working to rebuild their lives, and individuals in crisis who need someone to walk alongside them. Your support makes it possible for us to be there for them, offering love, guidance, and a path toward healing.

Please give today. Your generosity changes lives.
