Jerone and Valerie Hunter have been fostering children through Saint Francis Ministries since 2018, turning their personal experiences and passion for helping others into a mission of supporting youth in need. For Jerone, foster care is deeply personal. After experiencing foster care himself as a child, he understands the importance of stability, guidance, and having adults who genuinely care.
Together, the Hunters have welcomed numerous foster sons into their home, providing structure, encouragement, and opportunities for growth. They believe that many youth labeled as “high needs” simply need consistency, support, and someone willing to invest in their future. Through their fostering journey, they have helped create an environment where children can feel safe, valued, and supported.
The Hunters have witnessed remarkable transformations as youth gain confidence, develop life skills, and begin to envision brighter futures. Jerone often emphasizes that foster care is not about having a perfect home but about showing up consistently and helping children discover their potential.
They credit Saint Francis Ministries for providing guidance and support throughout their fostering journey and encourage others to recognize that foster care is a community effort. Their story demonstrates that when children are surrounded by stability, encouragement, and positive influences, they can overcome tremendous challenges and thrive.
