MacKenzie began her child welfare career with Child Protective Services in 2004 and has dedicated more than two decades to serving children and families across Texas. Her experience spans a variety of frontline and leadership roles, including Conservatorship Caseworker, Supervisor, Foster and Adoption Supervisor, and Conservatorship Program Director II. She joined Saint Francis Ministries in 2021 as Executive Director of Capacity Building, Community Engagement, and Provider Relations, and in January 2026 transitioned to her current role as Executive Director of Permanency and Reunification. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and a master’s degree, both from Texas Tech University. A founding member of Foster A Life, she has actively contributed to numerous child welfare boards, committees, and community initiatives.
