The coronavirus outbreak is affecting our communities and our families in significant ways. It's important we all stay informed and prepared, and also that we come together to uplift and inspire each other. We're busy putting together resources that can help! Here you'll find suggestions for preparedness and prevention, ideas for coping with kids who are now at home and need education and entertainment, how to talk to your kids (and other adults) about the stress and anxiety they may be facing, and some help for the many that find themselves in a new working-from-home environment. Public Policy Solutions: Build Trauma-Responsive Systems


Saint Francis Ministries is working to promote the implementation of trauma-informed responses to the coronavirus pandemic. With the four initial laws that Congress has passed to begin the nation's reponse to the pandemic, there is an opening to influence the direction of flexible, federal funding toward trauma-informed approaches and building resiliency. With guidance and leadership from trauma and resilience advocates, decision-makers could choose to direct funds toward making many or all public systems trauma-informed and hope-building.
