We work directly with children and youths whose parents have either relinquished their parental rights or had them terminated through the court system. As a result, these children need loving “forever families” to help them heal from the loss of their birth parents and grow into happy, fulfilled adults. Adoption is also a wonderful way to begin or grow your family by making a lifetime commitment to a child.
Saint Francis Community Services (SFCS) strives to provide the best care and service to every child and family we serve. Sometimes, though, concerns and questions arise that need to be addressed. We are committed to working with you to find a solution.
Few careers are as challenging or as satisfying as those serving at-risk children and families. When you come to work for Saint Francis, you join dedicated and professional colleagues driven by the desire to make children’s lives better. Couple that with a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, and you have a great place to work.
There are many reasons why a child might be placed into foster care, but usually it’s just because a good kid is stuck in a bad situation. We work hard to improve that situation so the child can return to his or her birth family. In the meantime, foster parents play a vital role in providing for the care and protection of the child temporarily placed in their home. It’s an important job, and it carries with it the potential to change lives – both the child’s and your own.
The Mission Engagement Team brings together Saint Francis employees from across the organization, representing broad and diverse roles, perspectives, and skill sets to form a “think tank” for how our organization might continue to live in to the ministry to which we are called. Framing our work in The Five Marks of Mission, accepted widely across the Episcopal Church, our creative collaboration seeks to Tell, Teach, Tend, Transform, and Treasure through a variety of innovative initiatives that advance the mission of Saint Francis Community Services.
Since our founding, Saint Francis has been an Episcopal ministry dedicated to serving children and families. As such, we place great confidence in both the mercy of God and the power of prayer. Please join us in praying for the protection of children and for the health of loving families of all kinds.
Our new, state-of-the-art residential facility located just west of Salina, Kansas, provides treatment services for youths ages 6 to 18 that have a mental health diagnosis and chronic behavior issues. The program also offers services and staff equipped to treat trauma and problems of sexual abuse and substance use.
